Stories with
their sources.
A journal rooted in the people and places of the Western Indian Ocean.
Original reporting, clearly identified
This journal brings together publications from Our Blue Future and its partners. Each article retains its original wording, publication date and references, with a link to the original publication. Editorial introductions and reading guides connect these reports and explain their context.
Dates tell you when
A feature may bring an older story back into view. Its original date remains visible. The latest reporting is ordered by publication date; being featured does not mean a story was recently reported or that its outcomes have been independently rechecked.
Who wrote it, and who published it
We credit named writers when the original article identifies them. “Published by” describes the publishing account on the source website, which may differ from the writer. We do not infer biographies, expertise or authorship from an account name.
Real images, with context
The opening film uses real camera footage. Its film credits identify the filmmakers and distinguish the verified Seychelles scene from general ocean imagery. Article photographs carry available credits and source links. A photograph used to illustrate a subject is labelled as a file or contextual image; it is not presented as a record of that article’s event. Original publication graphics remain available within the articles.
Follow the evidence
Sources and further reading sit alongside every article. The archive includes historical programme records and some overlapping accounts of the same event, with their original dates intact. Reading guides connect themes without implying that separate activities caused one another.
